Indian Air Force IAF www.indianairforce.nic.in conducting Recruitment Rally to the post of Airman at 8 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Tambaram, Tambaram East, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) from 20 Sep 2015 to 24 Sep 2015. Eligible Candidates from all the districts of state of Tamilnadu , Puducherry and Karailkal can only attend this recruitment rally.

Eligibility Criteria :

Age Limit :

a) Candidates for Group ‘X’ (Education Instructor) Trade :

(i) For Graduates. Should be born between 01 August 1991 and 31 May 1996 (both days inclusive).
(ii) For Post-Graduates. Should be born between 01 August 1988 and 31 May 1996 (both days inclusive).
(iii) Upper age limit on date of enrolment is 25 years and 28 years, for graduate and post graduate candidates respectively.

(b) Candidates for Group ‘Y’ {Automobile Technician, GTI & IAF(P)} Trades :

(i) Candidates should be born between 01 February 1996 to 31 May 1999 (both days inclusive).
(ii) Upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Educational Qualification :

(a) Group ‘X’ (Education Instructor) Trade :

(i) Graduate in Arts or Commerce or Science with B.Ed Degree or Two years teaching experience in a Government recognized School/ College, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Graduation as well as B.Ed. OR (ii) Passed MA English (or) M.Sc in Mathematics or Physics or Computer Science (or) MCA with B.Ed Degree or Two years teaching experience in a Government recognized School/College.

(b) For Group ‘Y’{For Automobile Technician, GTI and IAF(P)} Trades :

(i) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR (ii) Passed Two years Vocational Course affiliated/recognised by CBSE / State Education Boards / Councils duly recognised at par with 10+2 by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

Selection Process :

1. Verification of Eligibility
2. Written Test
   1. Group ‘X’ (Education Instructor) Trade. There will be two papers – an Objective type and a Descriptive type. The Objective type of paper would cover General English, General Awareness and Current Affairs. The Descriptive type of paper would aim to test the language comprehension and power of expression. Both the question papers will be administered in one go with duration of 30 minutes and 45 minutes for Objective and Descriptive papers respectively.
   2. Group ‘Y’ {Automobile Technician, GTI & IAF(P)} Trades. Duration of the written test will be 45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
   3. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day. All candidates who pass the written test will have to undertake Adaptability Test as per policy in vogue.
3. Physical Fitness Test :PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates will also have to complete 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
4. Interview : Candidates who have passed the Written Test, Adaptability Test and PFT will be interviewed. Working knowledge of English is a pre-requisite.
