Excerpts from the launch of NCS Job Portal :

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the government’s job board called National Career Service (NCS) portal.

“In the pipeline for the last four years, the government job board will be a next-generation online employment exchange. The labour ministry has readied it with an investment of over Rs.100 crore and it aspires to be a one-stop shop solution for job seekers and job providers.Job-seekers have reason to be happy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the National Career Counselling Portal as part of an endeavour to modernise all government-run employment exchanges.

The facility, which is part of the government’s focus on skilling and employment generation aims to create a direct market place for workers and employers.

You can go the website http://www.ncs.gov.in/ to apply. The main stakeholders for the NCS would include Unemployed candidates seeking jobs, Students seeking career counselling, Candidates seeking vocational / occupational guidance, under-privileged sections of society, blue-collar workers seeking placements, Persons with different abilities (PWDs), ex-servicemen, veterans / senior citizens and Employers seeking suitable candidates.

Apart from searching and applying for jobs on the portal, candidates can also avail career-related counselling by either visiting NCS centres or through helpline numbers. The NCS will offer registration for job aspirants and employers for free.

But to avoid misuse, the labour ministry will ask job seekers to link their Aadhaar number when registering with the website.”
