About CMERI:
The Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI) is the apex R&D institute for mechanical engineering under the aegis of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR ). Being the only national level research institute in this field, CMERI mandate is to serve industry and develop mechanical engineering technology so that India dependence on foreign collaboration is substantially reduced in strategic and economy sectors.
About Summer Research Internship In CMERI:
CMERI invites applications from students studying in 3rd year of B.E/B.Tech for Summer Internship and from those studying in 1st year of M.E/M.Tech, 1st year of M.Sc and 1st year of MCA courses for doing Project Work at the institute.
Objectives:
To offer opportunities to eligible and interested students to participate in ongoing research activities for obtaining practical research experience at CSIR–CMERI in the field of Mechanical Engineering and allied areas. Preference will be given to the students coming from the prestigious institutions like IITs and IISc.
Eligibility Criteria:
- B.E./B.Tech students are eligible for summer internship programme only after completion of their 6th Semester.
- The student must be studying in a recognized College/University/Institute with a stream relevant to the R & D area of CSIR – CMERI
- You should have secured at least 60% marks throughout his / her academic career (Startingfrom Final Board Exam of class X)
- For students pursuing BE/B Tech degree, their CGPA up to the last exam passed has to be at least 8.5
- For students pursuing ME / M Tech degrees and willing to carry out their thesis work for last two semesters
- Students pursuing ME / M Tech / M Sc / MCA are eligible for doing their Project Work after completion of their 2nd Semester.
Selection Process:
Selection of interns from the applications received will be done on first cum first serve basis subject to the fulfillment of Eligibility Criteria.
Last Date For Application: March 31 2014
Duration Period:
- For Summer Internship: 4 to 8 weeks during summer vacation(May to July)
- For Project Work: Two full semesters (3rd and 4th of ME/M Tech, M Sc and MCA)
