Role Overview
This internship sits at the intersection of supply chain operations, document intelligence and data engineering. The intern will help Stryker assess incoming order documents and build an automated flow that extracts reliable order information for use by downstream business teams.
- Analyse incoming order documents and map their formats, fields and edge cases.
- Evaluate OCR and document-extraction tools, including Tesseract, PaddleOCR, LayoutLM and LiLT.
- Build a pipeline that extracts customer details, part numbers, quantities, prices, dates and purchase order references.
- Validate extracted information against master data and create a review step for uncertain results.
- Connect the processed output with existing data infrastructure for reporting and order entry.
- Document the work and support a structured handover to the team.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, passing out in the 2025 or 2026 batch.
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing and scripting.
- Interest in, or some exposure to, machine learning, computer vision or natural language processing.
- Basic SQL knowledge and comfort working with structured data.
- Basic knowledge of UI-based automation such as UiPath and/or API-based automation such as Power Automate.
- An analytical mindset and strong attention to data quality.

- Study order documents from different formats and identify their data fields and exceptional cases.
- Compare OCR and document-AI approaches to support the selection of a suitable extraction method.
- Develop structured data extraction workflows for order-related information.
