Role Overview
The intern will join Shell’s Enterprise Assurance Services team and assist with activities that strengthen the organisation’s IT risk environment. The role provides practical exposure to how assurance work, audit evidence and findings are managed across IT.
- Work with the wider assurance team to identify, assess and review data quality for audit activities.
- Support minor activities connected with IT audits.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives for assurance services.
- Help maintain accurate reporting and efficient data management.
- Support checks on the accuracy of data and reports used by the team and stakeholders.
- Update audit results in the relevant records to preserve organisational knowledge.
- Prepare assurance outcome reports for IT stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Communicate delivery status and key insights clearly to the team.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Applicants must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology.
- Students specialising in IT security or Risk Management are highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications such as ISO 27001, CISA, CISM or CRISC are preferred, or candidates should have a strong desire to work towards obtaining them.
- The internship is based at Shell’s Bangalore RMZ-ECO WORLD office, with all five working days from the office.
- The expected start date is September 2026, and the internship duration is six months, with possible extension based on mutual agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with assurance colleagues on data quality reviews related to audits.
- Assist with assurance-service improvement initiatives and regular reporting.
- Monitor the quality and accuracy of tools, reports and supporting data.
- Record audit results in the appropriate systems and documents.
- Prepare reports on assurance outcomes for different IT stakeholders.
- Share progress updates and relevant insights with the assurance team.
Skills Required
- Strong interest or expertise in IT security and risk management.
- Knowledge of IT audit concepts and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Exposure to IT applications, with development knowledge being desirable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, PowerApps, Power BI or Azure is desirable.
- Exposure to Python, databases and cloud technologies is desirable.
- Ability to identify potential challenges and suggest effective solutions.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration and communication skills.
- Professional curiosity, willingness to learn and motivation to volunteer support.
