Role Overview
This position combines hardware-oriented verification with software development for SoC validation and emulation. The engineer will work on infrastructure that helps design and verification teams access hardware features, run tests before silicon is available and reuse the same tests across different development platforms.
- Develop tools for SoCV testbench infrastructure, bare-metal boot and silicon bring-up.
- Create test frameworks for CPU, GPU and SoC systems across simulation, emulation, FPGA and silicon environments.
- Build software that coordinates multiple IPs and supports access to registers, memory and hardware engines.
- Assess and implement C-model or RTL-simulation capabilities for pre-silicon validation.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Build infrastructure and test frameworks used in RTL simulations, C simulations, emulation, FPGA platforms and on silicon.
- Understand the Tegra system architecture, including the IPs involved in boot and security features.
- Develop features for silicon bring-up, including FUSE, ATE, security, Flash/DMA, board I2Cs and USB debug devices.
- Enable design and verification teams to access registers, memory, DMA engines and other unit-level features.
- Support test reuse across RTL, models, emulation and silicon platforms.
- Develop no-OS test frameworks that run directly on bare-metal SoC systems.
- Build scalable and maintainable software for complex tools and development environments.
- Work with C-model and RTL-simulation capabilities to validate features before silicon arrival.
Skills Required
- Strong programming ability in C, C++ and Python.
- Understanding of SoC and system architecture.
- Knowledge of SoC devices and functions, including DMA, interrupt engines, CPUs, boot devices and MMU/IOMMU.
- Understanding of operating system and device-driver concepts.
- Ability to write no-OS or bare-metal test frameworks.
- Understanding of hardware and software development life cycles.
- Exposure to silicon bring-up and emulation or FPGA-related test frameworks is an advantage.
- Knowledge of C++ testbenches or SystemVerilog/UVM-based testbench architectures is useful.
- Verilog and SystemVerilog coding skills are a plus.
- Creative, hardworking and autonomous approach to engineering work.
- Passion for technology and attention to software quality.
Why Join NVIDIA
The role offers practical exposure to the complete pre-silicon and post-silicon development cycle, from RTL simulation and emulation to FPGA testing and silicon bring-up. Engineers can work with complex CPU, GPU and SoC architectures while developing tools used by design and verification teams.
