Role Overview
The role is part of Mavenir’s Network Operations Centre team and is suited to an early-career professional who can monitor service health, respond to network events and follow established incident processes. The engineer will work with internal teams, higher-level support groups and external vendors when required to restore services.
- Monitor network performance and service KPIs in real time.
- Identify, analyse and report network alarms, alerts and performance issues.
- Create, log and manage incidents or tickets according to defined SLAs.
- Carry out initial troubleshooting by following standard operating procedures.
- Escalate incidents to L2 and L3 teams using the prescribed escalation matrix.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for issue resolution when required.
- Maintain records of incidents, actions taken and final resolutions.
- Provide timely communication and incident updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Follow shift schedules while supporting 24×7 NOC operations.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Educational background in telecommunications, electronics or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in a NOC, network monitoring or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience in KPI monitoring and incident creation or management.
- Basic understanding of telecom networks and related concepts.
- Willingness to work in a 24×7 operational environment and follow shift schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Track network performance and service indicators continuously through monitoring systems.
- Review alarms and alerts to identify possible network or service degradation.
- Open and update tickets while working within the applicable service-level agreements.
- Perform first-level checks and troubleshooting in line with documented procedures.
- Route unresolved issues to the appropriate L2 or L3 support team.
- Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to support timely problem resolution.
- Document incident progress, troubleshooting actions and resolution details accurately.
- Keep stakeholders informed throughout the incident lifecycle.
- Support the operational requirements of a round-the-clock Network Operations Centre.
Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications networks and concepts.
- Hands-on ability in KPI monitoring.
- Understanding of incident creation and incident management.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems is an advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
