Role Overview
This Applications Developer I role sits within Uber’s Engineering organisation and supports the Catalog Ingestion Team. The team builds connections between Uber’s systems and external partners so that catalogues and menus on Uber Eats contain complete, accurate and fresh information.
- Build high-quality integrations on top of Uber’s Inventory and Catalog platform.
- Work with Catalog Engineering on the product side and Partner Management and Partner Engineering on local operations.
- Maintain the quality of live catalog integrations and participate in the relevant on-call rotation.
- Respond promptly and reliably to maintenance requests affecting live integrations.
- Identify gaps in the existing catalog model and recommend improvements for ingesting partner-provided data.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Strong coding skills in at least one dynamic programming language, with Python preferred.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail in a highly technical environment.
- A process-driven approach and discipline in following established processes.
- The ability to work with a high level of autonomy and manage multiple projects at the same time.
- The role is based in Bengaluru, and employees must generally spend at least 50% of their time in the office unless approved for full remote work. Some work locations may require full-time office presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop integrations that connect partner and merchant systems with Uber’s Inventory and Catalog platform.
- Coordinate with product engineering teams to deliver reliable catalog integration solutions.
- Collaborate with partner-facing and local operations teams on integration requirements and issues.
- Take accountability for the continuing quality of catalog integrations after they go live.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities for the assigned integrations.
- Handle live-integration maintenance requests within the expected timelines.
- Review the catalog model for missing capabilities and suggest ways to capture more partner data.
