Role Overview
As a Software Engineer in the Commercial and Investment Bank, you will help improve risk and control processes through resilient platforms, reliable services and prompt-enabled workflow automation. The work combines backend engineering, applied AI and user-facing product development for systems that need strong governance and auditability.
- Build and operate backend services and APIs for enterprise workflows and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Integrate LLM and prompt functionality into production services with guardrails, fallback paths, response validation and audit trails.
- Develop retrieval and orchestration workflows using RAG, LangChain or similar frameworks.
- Implement vector search and embedding solutions using technologies such as pgvector or equivalent tools.
- Build user experiences for AI-powered applications and dashboards using modern front-end frameworks, with React preferred.
- Design persistence layers with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Develop event-driven and asynchronous processing patterns where required.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, release automation, environment promotion and production operations.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

- Implement unit, integration and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Establish logs, metrics, tracing and alerting, and diagnose performance or reliability issues in live systems.
- Promote safe, repeatable releases through automation and environment controls.
Skills Required
- Strong backend development experience with Java and/or Python.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, service design and API contract management.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development and AWS services.
- Experience with CI/CD, release automation and modern deployment practices.
- Proficiency in testing practices, production readiness, quality, reliability and operational support.
- Experience integrating AI or LLM functionality into enterprise applications, including guardrails and monitoring.
- Understanding of vector search, embeddings and retrieval-enabled architectures such as RAG.
- React or other modern front-end framework experience.
- Familiarity with observability platforms and SRE-style operational practices.
- Awareness of secure SDLC practices and governance expectations.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to convert business intent into executable technical plans.
