Eligibility Criteria
Educational qualification: Candidates must possess the essential qualification prescribed for the relevant discipline: B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engg.; B. Tech in Mechanical Engg.; B. Tech in Comp. Science & Engg.; B. Tech in Chemical Engg.; Diploma in Civil Engg.; Diploma in Computer Science Engg.; Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engg.; Diploma in Mechanical Engg.; Diploma in Chemical Engg.; Diploma in Electrical Engg.; Diploma in Cinematography Engg.; or Diploma in Automobile Engg.
- Only candidates who passed their respective courses in the year 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026 are eligible to apply.
- Candidates for Graduate Apprentice (BE/B. Tech) and Technician Apprentice (Diploma) are required to register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.
- Applications received from non-registered candidates or candidates having an invalid Enrollment No. will be rejected.
- Candidates with post-graduation degrees will not be considered for selection and hence need not apply.
- Candidates who have completed the essential qualification through regular mode only are eligible to apply.
- Graduate/Diploma holders who have training or job experience for a period of one year or more after acquiring the essential qualification will not be considered for selection.
- The reservation category eligible for selection will be applied as per the provisions of the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992, as amended from time to time.
Selection Process
- The Selection Board of PXE will go through the applications and shortlist the candidates based on the percentage of marks secured in the essential qualification.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for Written test/Interview, which will be held at PXE, Chandipur.
- After Interview, selected candidates will be offered joining letter through e-mail only.

- Download the application form from the DRDO website.
- Fill up the application form by typing only. Handwritten application forms submitted by candidates will be rejected.
- Attach the mark sheets of the essential qualification and reservation certificate, if any.
- Clearly mention “Application for Engagement of Apprentices, Apprentice Category (Degree/Diploma) and Discipline/Branch……….” on the envelope.
