Role Overview
The Software Engineer will join a team working with Nike’s product designers and broader creation community. The position combines front-end engineering, cloud platforms, APIs and operational work, with regular collaboration across engineering, product, design and business teams.
- Develop and operate scalable software solutions across web, front-end and cloud-native platforms.
- Build responsive, accessible and performant web experiences using modern front-end technologies, design systems and browser capabilities.
- Create and integrate cloud-native platforms, applications, APIs and services using an API-first approach.
- Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies and complete assigned software development tasks.
- Contribute to development, testing, deployment, monitoring and operational excellence across the software lifecycle.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of software development experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve usability, performance, scalability, resilience and maintainability across user-facing applications and backend services.
- Work with engineers, product managers, designers and business partners to deliver intuitive, reliable and high-quality software solutions.
- Support software projects that help Nike’s design and creation community develop footwear and apparel.
- Apply modern architectures and engineering practices while working on applications and services.
- Contribute to software tasks within a fast-paced development environment and support the team’s business objectives.
Skills Required
- Experience with React or Vue.js.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture, DevOps, infrastructure as code and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch and S3.
- Experience with Mocha, Jasmine and Jest.
- Strong understanding of design patterns and computer science fundamentals.
- Knowledge of modern architectures such as REST, domain-driven design and microservices.
- Preferred experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning and data solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships.
