Academic Internships in the Finance Area
Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) invites application for the Academic Intern position in its Finance Area. The position is suitable for young teachers as well as students and professionals interested in an academic career in Accounting and Finance. We provide an opportunity for you to develop teaching and research skills by working closely with the faculty.
Eligibility Criteria:
Qualifications: To be eligible for the internship, candidates must possess one or more of the following:
(a) Master’s degree in Business Management, Economics, or allied disciplines.
(b) M.Phil. in Business or Economics
(c) Ph.D. in Business or Economics or academics who are currently pursuing a Ph.D. in these disciplines.
(d) Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, Company Secretaries
Preference will be given to candidates who have a specialization in Accounting or Finance. Work experience in the finance and accounting areas will also be given favourable consideration.
Responsibilities: Academic Interns are expected to provide teaching and research support to the faculty in Finance Area. Opportunities to pursue research projects independently or under the guidance of the faculty are available.
Salary/Compensation: In general, we offer a salary of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 p.m., plus HRA of Rs. 3,000 p.m. In special cases, depending on qualifications and experience, we will offer a higher salary.
Other benefits: Reimbursement of insurance premium paid for self under specified health insurance schemes with sums assured up to Rs. 50,000.
Duration of the assignment: One year, extendable by two years.
Leave of Absence: Maximum of 30 days per year for personal work, examinations, and research work, if registered for a Ph.D.
