About The Intel India Embedded Challenge

IntelHigher Education Program, in collaboration with Intelligent Systems Group of Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd., proudly presents the Intel India Embedded Challenge 2014 (“Intel IEC 2014 or “the Contest”) – An Embedded design contest for students, interested individuals and entrepreneurs from all over India. Intel IEC 2014 aims to inspire the vast technically savvy community in India to architect, design and develop novel embedded applications based on Intel  Architecture Processors such as Intel Atom or Intel Galileo in areas such as Consumer Electronics, Digital Security Surveillance, Medical, Storage and many others.

Intel India President, Kumud Srinivasan, launched India’s premier contest on embedded design, Intel India Embedded Challenge (Intel IEC) 2014, at IIT Kharagpur on 21st March 2014. Intel IEC has been inspiring innovators from all over India to design and develop innovative embedded products and many of the participants have achieved incredible success. Kumud spoke about ‘Possibilities in the Digital Age’ as a part of the Intel’s Leader Talk session.

The Intel IEC 2014 has two main categories:

1. Student Category

Students studying in technical institutions, management institutions, degree, diploma colleges across India can participate in this category. Students can participate as individuals or in a team not exceeding 3 members.

2. Professional Category

Working professionals, faculty members, research associates, project associates, technology enthusiasts, independent / freelance consultants, technology solutions providers, entrepreneurs from across India can participate in this category as individuals or in a team not exceeding 3 members

The themes for submission of the project are:

  1. Internet of Things Devices and Intelligent Systems
  2. Smart Solutions for Social Cause
  3. Wearable Computing

Important Dates:

Opens for Registration: 21st March 2014

Deadline for submission of abstract: 20th June 2014

Prizes:

  1. Intel Innovation Grand Prize:
    Two Prizes of Rs.500000/-* (Rupees Five Lakhs Only) each cutting across the 3 themes of Intel IEC 2014, One Grand Prize in student category and one grand prize in Professional category
  2. Best Internet of Things (IoT) or Intelligent Device:
    One Prize of Rs. 100000 (Rs. One Lakh only)
  3. Best Smart Solution for Social Cause Award:
    One Prize of Rs. 100000 (Rs. One Lakh only)
  4. Best Wearable Technology Award:
    One Prize of Rs. 100000 (Rs. One Lakh only)
  5. Jury Popular Choice award:
    One Prize of Rs. 100000 (One Lakh only) cutting across the 3 themes of Intel IEC 2014
  6. Woman Innovator of the Year:
    Rs.100000/- (One Lakh only) cutting across the 3 themes of Intel IEC 2014
  7. Medals and Certificates from Intel for all finalists.
  8. Opportunity to participate in other regional and global innovation programs of Intel or collaborators of Intel.
